I'm Max and this is my artblog. Originally started for Sketchavember back in 2010, this place now serves as my artspace/blog of sorts.

I also reblog stuff that I find artistically inspirational here, just for fun.

I’ve watched this video before, and by some twist of fate it appeared on my Twitter timeline again, so I watched it again. I could watch this video of Jamie Hewlett over and over again and discover something new every single time.

Maybe that’s the magic of good advice.

Video about illustration, by Temujin Doran. Quirky and adorable. :D

Something interesting regarding interacting with an audience, and also about the medium and the message. I think it applies to anything that involves a creator (be it film, books, comics, etc) and an audience, and it’s interesting to me to think about this in the context of comics.

Be earnest with the message and ideas that you want to convey with your comics, and get it out there, and eventually, somehow, the audience creates itself.

I know. I tried.

Remember that 24 Hour Comic by Boulet I posted a while back? I finally tracked down a video of him strutting his stuff and it really is something wicked and amazing and definitely inspirational (after the initial self-loathing haha!). Inking directly without any pencilled guides and to get the perspective right…simply marvellous!

I wonder how long did he have to hone his skills to reach that level… Time to strive harder!

Doncamatic - Gorillaz featuring Daley

Just thought of sharing this for those of you who don’t know who I was referring to in my previous illustration. Listen to the song at least twice before deciding if it’s good or bad. =)
