I'm Max and this is my artblog. Originally started for Sketchavember back in 2010, this place now serves as my artspace/blog of sorts.

I also reblog stuff that I find artistically inspirational here, just for fun.

This is the one and only coloured page from my 24 Hour Comic, which you could see in the previous photoset I posted.
The event organiser asked if I could submit one of the pages in colour for their display, so I obliged and barfed a rainbow over it.

COLOUR SENSE I NO HASSSSS

Sharing these photos here because Stephani, a friend from Indonesia (and talented storyboarder) forced asked me to.

These were taken during the launch of the 24 Hour Comics Exhibition at the Singapore National Library in Jurong, the first stop of three for the three month long exhibition.

If you’re wondering why there’s suddenly a photograph of three girls posing, it’s because I featured them in the bonus section of the self-published version of my 24-Hour Comic (HA!).

Credits for the photos go out to Sarah and Jillian.

Part 2 of my Simon and Marcy-centric comic.

If any of you read Marceline and The Scream Queens, perhaps the last page will look familiar to you. =)

You can read Part 1 here.

Since the ‘Simon and Marcy’ Adventure Time episode will be shown next week, I figured it’s about time I shared my Simon and Marcy-centric comic I did for the Adventure Time Comic Anthology spearheaded by Saph for Comic Fiesta 2012, which is now sold out.

This is the first batch of pages, and the continuation can be found here: Part 2

This was my first attempt at doing a full colour comic, so I referenced the colour palettes in the Adventure Time comics by BOOM! Studios quite a bit. Still putzing my way through Photoshop!

Anyway, enjoy!

Simply one of the most amazing comics I’ve ever seen.

wow

Man, simply mindblowing.

And there are people who still say that comics are for children.

I started to write a how-to comic about working out but it it turned into a comic about body acceptance.

this is perfect. and this goes for not just guys.

I feel like I have to put an emphasis on “Fake It.” That is exactly how I achieved self-confidence about my body. I faked it so well that I started to believe it, and it’s the best feeling in the world. And people respond well to it! Wear a t-shirt with your swimsuit while you’re swimming and people will think you’re ashamed of it and respond with silent pity. Go shirtless with a smile (even with a fake smile, shaky legs, and a beet-red face) and people will compliment you on it, even though you’re fat!

I think this is my new favourite post on tumblr. It seems to have been made by someone with exactly the same body issues as me and the advice is so simple and not flooded with jargon.

Faking it sounds easy, but it’s definitely the hardest thing that I’ve tried.

So much of everything on this is great

Reblogging for my own self-reminder from time to time…

I love how there are so many different kinds of comics coming out of the woodwork nowadays! Love the message too. =)

Soppy by Philippa Rice

i love this so much but reminds me of my ex in so many ways.

Everyone deserves a life of this.

Call me a wussy or whatever, but this is very sweet and yes… everyone deserves a life of this.
